Hi, I'm Gabriel Pimentel
Since I was little I have always been taking apart things, drawing and designing whether I knew at the time or not. I was born in Lima, Peru and am proud to have a rich Guatemalan and Peruvian heritage.
I have experience in softgoods and footwear design but am hungry to learn more. At the end of my second year as an Industrial design student at San Jose State University (SJSU) I attended the Pensole Lewis Collage's masterclass, Divercity X Design and was selected as one of five for a one year rotational apprenticeship with Timberland, Vans, The North Face, and Altra. After returning to SJSU for a year I went back to Timberland during the summer to work on their footwear innovation team (ACE). Following a semester abroad, studying design in Paris, France at ENSCI - Les Ateliers, I am now in my last semester, excited to start the next chapter in my carrer!
I believe one is a product of one's upbringing and experiences, and I am truly grateful for all the opportunities that I have gotten and to all the people who have helped me along the way. I am hungry to keep learning, leave my impact on the world, diversify the industry and create a path for others like me to follow.
